There's been people here for four days straight. And it's been raining. Let's see if I can summarize... Thursday was chaos to start with... had to take my mother to radiation in the morning. Then came home and cleaned. Friend from out of state stopped by in the early afternoon. Grabbed him and kiddo and dropped my mother off of at the doctor. Came home, sat outside with said friend for awhile. Roomie came home. Mother called me to let me know she was ready to come home. Got back here to the friend, the roomie and our Mexi-can't squatter all looking at computers. Took the friend outside with me. We hung out there chatting for hours. Very nice. Couldn't talk 'im into staying for the night, but ah well. He's moving here next month :D Yayyy someone to talk to about something other than video games. Mind you I'm looking forward to spending quality time with his PS3 but...not as a 24/7 thing. This person will help fulfill some of my social/intellectual needs that roomie is rather oblivious too.  Friday was a normal day, except the Mexican't was here. Saturday we went swimming... well actually the Mexican't and my roomie played Magic the Gathering while me and Sephie went swimming... and went home and she napped and I cleaned up the house. They returned around 9 acting like they were late. Right, because lord knows I completely expected them to come right home like they said they would. They brought home one of the Mexican't's friends with them. They stayed up all night playing video games in my living room. And today...woke up made a big lunch, clipped Cuervo's nails (would like to do Daxter's but I can't find the Dremel that we use for that), went to family dollar, bathed both dogsand then took a shower. Roomie took the squaters home when I got home from family dollar. Couple of notes: I call him a squatter because he lives at my house maybe a week of every month...eats, sleeps etc here... spending a good part of his time on his laptop on my high speed connection. Someone drank all my dew and didn't bother to tell me or take the empty box out of the fridge. Not a big deal, except they knew I wanted to mix stuff that night. I keep telling him I'm going to charge his mother child support. Oh yeah, he's 19. My roomie is 30, *groans* And I call him Mexican't because it amuses me. It's not meant as offensive (actually his mother thinks it's hilarious!) and I've known this kid since he was in diapers. I have rights. I am not a racist. Other note: Daxter (my overgrown German Shepherd pup) hates the hose... I had to chase him around the deck with it in order to get him wet and then he insisted on being on my lap while I was shampooing and rinsing him. Yay... wet dog smell. HOPEFULLY I got the skunk reek out of them though.   Speaking of skunks... my daughter thinks her father is one. People... this is what happens when furres have children. She pointed at the TV and called a cartoon skunk "Daddy." More groaning.  Other news... got turned down for several more jobs. There's one I just submitted a resume to that would be AWESOME. It's in an awesome nearby city and it comes with awesome pay and benefits... and it's my field. Please, please cross paws! This is my mother's last week of radiation and chemo. They still won't tell us anything. Apparently our family doctor had an off-the-record conversation with her oncologist who said she was doing "really well." Whatever that means.  I have a shut off notice for Consumer's. Knew that was coming. My health insurance got cancelled because DHS found out that Thumper was working again. Yup, he was working for 1 week at one job and another week at another. He's back at his normal job now, which is through a temp agency. They refuse to fill out paperwork, thus I cannot provide proof to my "wonderful" (note sarcasm) case worker who then cancelled my benefits. I called her about it and her voice mail sternly told me that it was Wednesday July 9th and that she would not be taking calls that day. It was Monday the  14... and I had Thumper call his temp agency and they basically said they'll fill it out when they get it over and over... they are an hour away... and I sent it almost 2 weeks prior to that. Oh yeah, and they closed the office he usually works with... didn't bother to tell us. Yes, I need a job desperately... but it's gotta be something not minimum wage. I know "everything helps" but that's not so true. Minimum wage would force Thumper to keep his job while putting Sephie into daycare, and canceling everyone's insurances because we'd be over income limits, and alert the government which would make them call about my student loans. Long story short by the time I paid for gas, insurances, student loans and day care my job would be utterly pointless if I get minimum wage. Welcome to America folks. That being said I've been applying to minimum wage jobs lately because I'm tired of depending on other's to get the bills paid. Yes, including Thumper/roomie. Oh... and for those who say I'm lazy or abusing the system... Graduated high school early with a 3.98 GPA, went to college for 6 years, got two degrees one from an accelerated program, graduated with honors, waited to have kid till I was a bit older and had an income. And even then a big part of the reason for the timing was my own medical issues. Lord that's not depressing to think about or anything. Better topic...lemme think...oh I finished Atlas Shrugged . Kinda proud of that one because it's really long and detailed and my house is chaos so finding time is nearly impossible. Now (trying) to read CoS by M. Aquino. Lighter reading by far, but not nearly as interesting. We'll see if I make it through that one.  See what I need...is to get a full time job, a good daycare for Sephie (hopefully just part time) and a nice casual friend with benefits who's also taking care of their own issues. Hmm.. no I don't ask much :P Oh and I need to take my GRE's, get into grad school, buy this house, get my younger pup all his shots and smack some sense into certain people.  Just for a funny... my friend that came up on Thursday is a Cancer. I have issues with Cancers. Tend to like 'em too much. Especially those who fire sign moons. Except B.G. He's a prick who happened to be a good lay, lol. Anyway... I was talking to this friend a few weeks ago and I told him if I ever get stupid enough to date another Cancer I'm bringing a crow bar to pry open that famous Cancer shell. While he was here, we were talking about something... and I said "Crow bar" "yup to pry open the shell" "No, to hit you over the head with to knock some sense into you." That, ladies and gentleman, is how should I approach all these Cancer types. *laughs* Oh hey, roomie is home. He's going to be mad but he's got to mow the lawn today or tomorrow. He's been neglecting it for a couple weeks! Write more when I get time.
