Blog Entry: Dear Potential Employer, *waves* Hiya! While I understand it's your job to test me, please allow me to communicate a few points to you. 1. If you want my official transcripts you need to give me more than 5 days to get them to you. Believe it or not, they charge me for those things, and even more if I expect to get them in no less than 2 weeks. If I could afford such things I wouldn't be applying to your job. 2. I can only put so many pieces of paper into one envelope. I know email isn't traditional, but it saves the environment! 3. Please return my calls. I know, my bad, my phone's messed up and doesn't ring half the time. I need this job to replace it! 4. I would really like to know where I'm applying to. Placing job ads with no information about the position short of "Human Services" and adding a personal email address is really not cool. 5. Please, please list the actual requirements of the position in the ad. It's a waste of your time and mine when I call you or write you just to have you tell me that I don't have such and such credentials. 6. For those of you who use online applications, HIRE A REAL PROGRAMMER! I can't apply if the application has code error. 7. Asking me if there's anything in my past that might embarrass your company is rather open ended. I mean sure there's naked pictures of me with random objects all over the internet and of course I'll start putting my job title and the address ot your company on those photos. (Joke) 8. Learn to appreciate my honesty. Do you really think that chick with a $400 suit isn't hooking somewhere? Oh wait, she calls it "Family Counseling." 9. Yes I am well aware of how far away you are. Are you aware of how much this economy sucks nuts? 10. Please don't talk down to me. I did go to college. You know this. I'm pretty damn good at writing a complete sentence. 11. Yes, I have a dependable vehicle. No, I will not use it to drive your friend to work. Lastly... 12. DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT post a job ad just to make it look like you don't already have someone lined up for the position!!! ---------- so...yeah
