I know life's sometimes pretty hard but some conventions do set up the ability for folks to sponsor folks who otherwise couldn't make it. You may want to look into that option.

This post hits me close to home because I'ven't been in a financial situation to support going to a convention in a few years, but at the same time it really bothers me because there are lots of people in bad financial situations who would love to go to a convention but can't at the moment, and these people are either working on extra things to try and get enough money or just not going rather than begging perfect strangers for money.

Do you have any skills you could offer up the community in exchange for financial help? Are you a programmer? An artist?

While I appreciate your needs, this site is not about "begging" other furry for money. This is a place for like minded individuals to come and meet others. Most conventions have a forum on their website to facilitate furry looking for assistance getting to Cons and what not.

I also do not appreciate you "spamming" this request all over the forums here. You have posted this at least 3 times on 3 different threads. Please stop. I truly would not like to act mean. Posting once 1 can overlook even if it is a form of begging but 3 is a little too much.

I wish you well in your efforts to get to the Con, but as Youlanda states, there are others who are not finacially able to go either and the last thing I need is for FurreFace to become a haven for panhandlers and beggers. Common ettiquette would suggest, again, you take this to the Con's page that is setup to handle this kind of thing.

You may want to consider aiming for a bigger target, like Further Confusion or Anthrocon. Last I checked FC occasionally does financal support. In general, more people will be going--meaning more people you can get a ride with.

You can technically attend a furry con for 200-300 dollars total if you room with a few other people.

I remember one year we snuck a mini George Forman grill into our hotel room, one of our roommates brought an icechest, and we did things like made hotel bathroom burgers. Mmmm delicious.

GO TO http://www.craigslist.org AND FIND A LOCAL PORTION NEAREST TO YOU.

 LOOK FOR ADS OF VIDEO GAMES AND CONSOLES, AND ASK FOR BARGAINS.

USING COMMON VIDEO GAME KNOWLEDGE, LIKE THAT WHIH IS BOUNTIFUL IN MY HEAD, YOU CAN BUY CHEAP, SELL HIGH, AND MAKE A TON OF MONEY TO SUPPORT YOUR FUTILE DREAM OF ENTERING A CON AS SOMETHING THAT ISN'T A SPACE INVADER (SHAME ON YOU).

I KNOW TONS OF TIPS THAT CAN MAKE YOU MONEY. 

SUCH AS:

- SUPER MARIO GAMES RUN FOR $15 EVERY TIME, AND A COMBINATION FOR SUPER MARIO I, II, AND III CAN GO FOR $60.

-FINAL FANTASY VII IS WORTH $80 ON AVERAGE.

- SUPER MARIO RPG, IF STILL IN THE BOX, IS WORTH $100.

-MOST PS2'S THAT ARE SOLD "BROKEN" SIMPY HAVE A READING ERROR, AND YOU CAN FIX IT BY TIGHTENING ONE PART.  THAT'S $40 RIGHT THERE.

-LOOK THROUGH LONG LISTS FOR KEY GAMES (IF YOU KNOW AVERAGE WORTH).  IF THERE'S LOT OF EXPENSIVE GAMES IN THERE, BUY IT ALL AS A PACKAGE, AND LOWBALL THEM FOR A LOWER PRICE.

 - PEOPLE THINK THEIR DIRT IS GOLD.  IF THEY ASK FOR $300 FOR THEIR 2-YEAR-OLD XBOX 360, OFFER THEM $200.  AFTER GOING THREE WEEKS OF GETTING NO DEALS CLOSE TO THEIR EXPECTED $300, THEY'LL BE GRATEFUL TO TAKE YOUR $200.  RE-FURBISH AND CLEAN THE CONSOLE, AND SELL FOR $325 WITH GAMES AND CONTROLLERS BOUGHT CHEAPLY FROM GARAGE SALES.

THERE'S LOTS MORE WISDOM AND CAPSLOCK WHERE THAT CAME FROM.
